2026 Route

O Gran Camiño 2026 took place from April 14 to 18. Five days during which the peloton rode through different landscapes of our region.

O Gran Camiño kicked off its fifth edition by returning to one of Galicia’s most iconic heritage landmarks, the Tower of Hercules, with an individual time trial to warm up the engines facing the untamed Atlantic.

In the second stage, the cycling peloton traveled from the inland plains of Lugo, A Terra Chá, to the northernmost coast of the region, A Mariña, finishing right by the beach.

The third stage of OGC 26 linked two towns with a deep cycling tradition, Carballo and Padrón, combining the three elements that define Galicia: inland, mountains, and coast.

The queen stage of OGC 26 was the Ourense stage, between Xinzo and Xunqueira de Espadanedo, dominated by the mountains and an epic battle among the riders, with a finish never before seen in professional cycling.

At OGC, we wanted to keep the excitement alive until the very last minute. The final stage therefore crossed Galicia’s sporting province par excellence, Pontevedra, and featured an epic uphill finish, facing the Atlantic and looking towards Portugal: Monte Trega.

O Gran Camiño 2026 thus consolidated its identity as a race that combines sporting challenge, innovation in its routes, and a strong connection to Galician territory. Across its five stages, the race served as a showcase for Galicia’s natural, cultural, and scenic heritage, from the inland areas to the coast.
