In 2022 we presented an attractive route, with each stage passing through one of the four provinces of our community. Galicia is known in the world of cycling for its roads’ hardness, that, although do not have too many mountain passes of great entity, you can joint a route with chained mountain passes and a high altitude, with lots of terrain where have the best show.

Thus, the first stage took place in the province of Pontevedra. It was the most favorable for the fast men of the peloton, with a massive arrival in the Policarpo Sanz street of Vigo, after passing through some mountain passes that reduced this main group. The Danish EF – EasyPost rider Magnus Cort Nielsen was the fastest and achieved the victory and the race´s leadership.

The second stage, in A Coruña, started in Bertamiráns and finished in Ézaro.. After leaving towards Santiago de Compostela, it reached the Costa da Morte to finish at the top of the viewpoint of Ézaro, where the Canadian Michael Woods, from Isael – Premier Tech, was who took the victory and the yellow leader’s maillot.

The Ourense stage was the one called to make the important differences in the general classification. . A chain of three mountain passes through the Sil Canyon’s provided a first-class show between Israel – Tech, which defended its leadership, and Movistar Team, which sought with Alejandro Valverde get over the race.

In the fourth stage, an individual time trial in Sarria, the Ukrainian of EF – EasyPost, Mark Padun, set the best time, taking the victory. In a heart-stopping finish, it was decided in a head-to-head battle between Woods and Valverde, which fell to the Spaniard by a margin of just 6″. An apotheosic end to a great lap.
